ANGER MANAGEMENT

We offer a range of services to both individuals and organisations that have issues with anger.

All of our latest programmes can be found on our specialist Anger Management Website by clicking here.

Anger can take many forms it's common in business to find people who get sarcastic, who use insulting language, some even become enraged and scream and shout. Anger can be very destructive both to the person who becomes angry and those around them. Even worse, because of its debilitating effects work performance can be drastically reduced and obviously this can affect organisational productivity.

Companies that employ staff that have to drive(Sales representatives, delivery drivers, etc.) also have to worry about the effects of Road Rage. Not only may there employees give way to this state (which if they drive a vehicle with the company logo can be a very bad advertisement) but those employees may find that other peoples' road rage is contagious.

Anger is such a widespread problem that not only do we offer training in dealing with Anger, but we also run programmes to teach people to be A•Tect Anger Management Coaches and even (for larger organisations) A•Tect Anger Management Trainers. An A•Tect Trainer can teach others to become coaches so that they can then administer the A•Tect programme throughout an organisation.

For individuals who want an effective and inexpensive way of dealing with their own anger we have the web-interactive eBook "How To Deal With Your Anger" that can be purchased by clicking here.

AGGRESSION MANAGEMENT

The areas in which we can offer you assistance and advice are verbal aggression management and physical aggression management.

The variety of potential aggressors ranges in the commercial environment from the 'little old lady' who is mildly angry with a shop assistant or a call centre operative through to the 'customer from Hell' who is overcome by rage and about to explode and attack the parking attendant or hotel receptionist that has become the focus for their anger.

Our primary course is our V•Tect Dealing with Verbal Aggression course which gives you a practical understanding of the causes of aggression along with simple to remember methods for dealing with verbal assaults.

If your occupation places you in greater risk then the next step is training in P•Tect Dealing with Physical Aggression, this course shows you how to protect yourself from an unwarranted physical attack by showing you how simple self preservation techniques can keep you safe, this course also introduces the basics of self defence.

You may be wondering, what is the difference between self preservation and self defence? There is a variety of ways that an assault can be dealt with, the first and simplest is to deal with the aggression at a verbal and emotional level.

Next there is self preservation training which is focused on avoidance and redirection strategies so that you are not touched by the aggressor.

Next comes breakaway training which is required by people who have a duty of care to the aggressor, this includes medical staff and others in a caring occupation - If you are in this category we offer the B•Tect Breakaway Training course.

Then there is self defence, this is where an attack is persistent enough or dangerous enough that self preservation training will not efficiently safeguard you. In this case it is necessary (and legally and morally justified) to use techniques that through either pain compliance or blunt trauma (which includes things like joint locks or strikes) dissuade the aggressor from continuing their attack.

The next category is for people who are in either the caring professions or in the police or prison service or are doormen or security guards. These occupations need to use Control and Restraint techniques which Protectics offers via an associated company who are one of the UK's leading providers in this area. We do however offer directly, a modified version of our V•Tect course which is more suited to those professionals who need training in Tactical Communications.

Finally there are the more extreme forms of physical aggression management required by people whose profession puts them in danger of of being attacked with lethal intent, this training is extremely specialised and is only offered by Protectics to government or other specialist organisations.
